Traveling to San Sebastian in La Gomera:

Getting to La Gomera is easy from most airports within the UK. Flights go to Tenerife South from most UK regional airports, they take around 4 hours 30 minutes from Scotland & 4 hours from the rest of the UK. When you arrive in Tenerife you need to travel to Los Christianos by taxi or bus. The taxi fare is around 24 Euro. The bus service is very reliable and will take you all the way to the ferry and a return for 60 Euro and this includes the return fare on the ferry.

Leave Scotland on an early flight on a Friday and you can be sitting in San Sebastian enjoying a cold beer on Friday early evening. Fish Sat & Sun and back home of Monday. No risk of being blown off with adverse weather. The flight & travel costs can be cheaper than flying to Shetland.

The bus company to take you from the airport is http://www.autobusesmesa.com The bus service can be booked but no more than 21 days in advance.

Ferry timetables ( subject to change so please check ) http://www.gomera.info

The ferry service is either http://www.navieraarmas.com or http://www.fredolsen.es It is important to try and arrive in Tenerife early in the day or no later than 1400 which will enable you to catch a ferry to San Sebastian. Please check the ferry timetables as they change frequently and over the year.

You will be on the very comfortable ferry service for around an hour and you will then arrive in San Sebastian harbour where you will be met. The boat is berthed in the marina next door. When you arrive everything is within easy walking distance, no need to take a taxi at the harbour.
