With over 60 years fishing expertise between the crew in the UK and in La Gomera we are well placed to help you catch Big game fish including various types of Tuna. We also have a very good record of landing the fish you catch. We are often on the water after the charter has finished in out attempts to get you into some nice fish.
We would never claim to be better than anyone else as we treat all fellow skippers with respect and courtesy. That same respect is always show to our anglers who will enjoy a great time aboard Oberon.
We brought the Rodman 1250 all the way from Cullivoe in the cold windy north of Shetland to San Sebastian in the beautiful island of La Gomera, nearly 2000 miles by sea. The sea temperatures went from 12 degrees to 23 degrees in five weeks. I had visited this island on a few occasions and it was apparent that this was one of the best fishing venues on the planet.
After a refit of the boat and the installation of the outriggers and fighting chair it was time to leave the UK and head south. Thanks to Big Andy MacDonald now known as Carlito by the locals. After 5 weeks we arrived weary but in one piece in La Gomera.
In our first season in 2017 we have caught many species including 19 Bigeye tuna to 220 lbs and 11 Tuna to 850 lbs. They have all been returned alive. Yellowfin tuna to 210 lbs. We have also caught numerous Albacore, Bonito and Dorado. Wahoo to 60lbs. We are now exploring the bottom fishing and have caught big Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda and huge stingray.
On Blue Marlin we had 17 landed and 25 hook ups for 31 days fishing. In 2018 we have just started out Marlin fishing and have had three big Marlin for three hook ups over 4 days
